Hello, I’m Kathryn Kedarisetty (formerly Casazza), a 5th grade teacher, teacher leader, and proud lifelong Vacaville resident, and I’m running for the Solano County Board of Education.
For nearly a decade in the classroom, I’ve seen firsthand what our students need to succeed and how much stronger they are when they feel supported by their schools and community. Every day reinforces why this work matters: our students deserve learning environments that believe in their potential and prepare them for the challenges and opportunities ahead.
As a member of my school’s leadership team, I work closely with students, families, and fellow educators to ensure their perspectives help guide the decisions that shape our schools. Beyond my classroom, I’ve partnered with Natomas Unified and Sacramento State to strengthen instruction and support the development of future educators. These experiences have shown me that when schools, districts, and higher education come together with a shared purpose, we can create meaningful opportunities for students.
My commitment to education is deeply personal. I am a product of Vacaville schools: Cooper Elementary, Vaca Peña Middle School, and Will C. Wood High School, and those experiences helped shape who I am today. They opened the door for me to attend UC Davis, where I earned my Bachelor’s in Psychology, my teaching credential, and a Master’s degree in Education. After meeting my husband at UC Davis, we chose to build our life here in Vacaville, close to our family and the community that has given us so much.
Coaching soccer has also been an important part of my journey. It’s another way I support young people as they build confidence, resilience, and a sense of teamwork. Those lessons carry with them far beyond the field.
I’m running for the Solano County Board of Education because I believe strong schools are built through partnership. Our students, families, and educators all play a role in creating supportive, effective learning environments, and they deserve leadership that listens, collaborates, and brings people together. I’m committed to working alongside our community to ensure every student in Solano County has the opportunities and support they need to thrive.
Thank you for being here. I would be honored to earn your support and your vote.
